Eileen Flanagan is the clerk of the board of Earth Quaker Action Team and a member of Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting. Her newest book, Renewable: One Woman’s Search for Simplicity, Faithfulness, and Hope, is about her midlife realization that she was not living in sync with her values and the journey that led her to climate justice activism. A resident of East Falls, her previous book, The Wisdom to Know the Difference, was endorsed by the Dalai Lama. Also, as promised, you’ll get to hear the newly released song from City Love (Sterling Duns and Caselli Jordan), a west Philadelphia conscious acoustic duo with hip hop, harmonies. They are educators and musicians who write songs to spread the love, make people move, make people laugh, and foster dialogue about the issues of our times. September 4, 2015 was the first Planet Philadelphia environmental radio show on Gtown Radio in the heart of Germantown. The host of Planet Philadelphia, Kay Wood, interviewed inspiration environmental and social justice activist, George Lakey. He has led 1,500 workshops on five continents and led nonviolent direct action activist projects on local, national, and international levels. He’s written many books and articles, and taught classes at Swarthmore College.
